Forklift Truck (FLT) Medicals
Operating a forklift requires a high level of physical and mental fitness to ensure the safety of the driver and those around them. An FLT medical assessment checks whether an individual is medically fit to operate forklift trucks safely and competently in the workplace.
Our assessments are carried out in line with current HSE (Health and Safety Executive) guidance and include:
• Vision and hearing checks
• Cardiovascular and respiratory health screening
• Neurological and musculoskeletal assessment
• Assessment of mobility, coordination, and reaction times
• Review of any medical conditions or medications
FLT medicals are typically required:
• Before starting a job as a forklift operator
• At regular intervals for ongoing safety (every 3–5 years, or more frequently for those over 45)
• After a period of illness or injury
If there are concerns about fitness to operate machinery
We provide prompt and confidential assessments to help keep your workplace safe and compliant with health and safety regulations.
